Lori Brookman is a research assistant in the GIST Lab and a third-year senior undergraduate student pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She is deeply passionate about advancing the field of sex therapy, with a particular focus on sexual trauma and dysfunction, approaching her work through a qualitative-based lens of research. Lori intends to pursue a Master’s degree followed by a Ph.D., working to improve one’s sexual self-schema after a trauma has occurred and promote sexual education through empowerment, aspiring to combine teaching and research in a university setting. Driven by her commitment to sexual education and advocacy, Lori seeks to address and amplify issues that have historically been overlooked, with the aim of empowering and educating future generations. Beyond her academic pursuits, she enjoys exploring the Colorado mountains and expressing her creativity as a tattoo artist. Through her work with the Renée Crown Wellness Institute, Lori is eager to make a passionate contribution to the study of sexual wellness and dysfunction, bringing both her academic dedication and personal passion to the community she serves.
