Anabel Salimian is a PhD student in the Clinical Psychology program at CU Boulder. Before beginning her doctoral program, she earned her B.S. in Biopsychology with a minor in Applied Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. Following her undergraduate studies, she worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at UCLA’s Child and Adolescent Mood Disorders Program, where she contributed to research on adolescent mood disorder treatment, youth bipolar disorder, and adult interventions for major depressive disorder. Her research interests center on improving access to and engagement in youth mental health care, with a focus on young adults from immigrant families experiencing depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. She aims to explore how digital mental health tools and community partnerships can reduce barriers, enhance acceptability, and promote sustained involvement in care.
In her work with the Student Voice and Leadership Council, Anabel focuses on advancing student flourishing and strengthening campus-wide wellness initiatives. She is particularly interested in reducing stigma, promoting help-seeking, and integrating evidence-based wellness strategies into everyday student life to support thriving among diverse college communities.
